40 km from Hobart, the Dodges Ferry Boat Park in south-east Tasmania is next to Tiger Head Beach – a protected picturesque beach with a boat ramp.

Not far from shops including great fish & chips. I personally recommend it for an outing not far from Hobart – kids will be impressed and there is a nearby safe beach.
Dodges Ferry gets its name from Ralph Dodge, a settler who operated a local boat and ferry service across the estuary in the 1820s. The Boat Park is where he operated his ferries from.
