Midway Point is situated between the eastern side of Hobart and Sorell in the middle of two man-made causeways.

Flyway Park is a bit tricky to find and can be accessed via 3 different streets:

  • Sanfrancisco Street (off Penna Road)
  • Vancouver Street (off Penna Road)
  • Midway Street (off the Esplanade)

Parking is a bit limited at each of these 3 access points, but overall okay.

The playground has a mix of equipment designed mainly for smaller kids with lots of open space to run around. Older kids will like the dual flying fox.

Wheelchair-friendly paths with accessible toilets.

At the time of this review, the Sorell Council is in the middle of creating a Pump Bike Track on the site – we’ll get an update later!

Flyway gets its name from being nestled along the Pitt Water-Orielton Lagoon, an internationally recognized wetland that serves as a vital habitat and “flyway” for migratory birds and local shorebirds.
