The Caldew Park Playgound in West Hobart is known as ‘The Train Park’. It earned its nickname from a vintage steam traction engine originally integrated into its play structure. Following a major safety upgrade in 2003, the vintage engine was removed, but the railway theme was preserved. The fully fenced, dog-free park is a beloved local family destination, but I do miss the old steam engine!

A variety of equipment for all ages including great slides. Twin BBQ with plenty of seating, great for a birthday party or gathering.

Sitting on the historic 1861 Caldew Estate and originally an old quarry and tip, the site was transformed into a park in the late 1940s.
